This week’s Crime stoppers report comes from the files of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives are needing your help solving a THEFT case, which occurred on JUNE 8, 2024 at HOBBY LOBBY. Please take a look at the photo.

Hobby Lobby store reported that unknown individuals (male and female) entered the store on separate occasions together. The individuals managed to steal several hundred dollars’ worth of items and fled the store. The male appeared to be a white male, dark beard, and walks with a cane. The other is a white female, dark colored hair, with glasses.

The Terre Haute Bowling Center reported that an unknown male individual attempted to cash a check from the Happiness Bag. The male was claiming to be an employee of the bowling center. The male is a white male, dark hair, beard, and glasses. He also has several tattoos on both arms.

MATTHEW NIEFT is wanted out of DIVISION 6 COURT for DEALING METHAMPHETAMINE (F: 3), DEALING IN A SCHEDULE I CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (F: 2), DEALING MARIJUANA (F: 6), and RESISTING LAW ENFORCEMENT (MA). NIEFT is a 5’9”, I20 lbs., white male with brown hair and blue eyes.

This week’s Crime stoppers report comes from the files of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives are needing your help solving a VEHICLE THEFT case, which occurred on APRIL 17, 2024 from a southern Vigo County residence. Please take a look at the photos.

On April 17, 2024, at approximately midnight, an unknown male suspect walked onto a property on Dallas Drive and drove off with the truck. An attached trailer containing mowers and lawn care equipment were also taken with the truck. The male was wearing camouflage and night vision goggles.

Cold Case Homicide

This week’s Crime stoppers report comes from the files of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives are needing your help solving a cold case homicide. 

On July 10, 1980, Gloria Hedden was reported missing by her husband. Gloria was last seen near Indiana State University Campus in the early morning hours. On July 12, 1980, Gloria’s body was located in the Wabash River with her hands and feet bound together.

Detectives continue to work the case after many years, in hopes of bringing closure to the Hedden family. With advancing criminal investigation tools, detectives look to bring the killer to justice.

Buck's Gas Station-Fraud

This week’s Crime stoppers report comes from the files of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives are needing your help solving a FRAUD case, which occurred on February 26, 2024 at Buck’s Gas Station in southern Vigo County.  Please take a look at the photos.

Three unknown male individuals entered the property of Buck’s Gas Station on Erie Canal Road to purchase lottery tickets. These individuals were able to purchase approximately $7,000 worth of lottery tickets before employees were able to confirm it to be fraud. The credit card information used was later determined to be stolen.

January 28, 2024 an unknown individual entered the property of Dorsett Automotive. This individual was able to make entry into a 2014 Dodge Charger, gray in color. The suspect fled with the vehicle and his whereabouts are unknown.

This week’s Crime stoppers report comes from the files of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives are needing your help solving a BURGLARY case, which occurred on December 30, 2023 at a southern Vigo County business. Please take a look at the photos and help identify the male and female.

On December 30, 2023 an unknown individual entered the Indy E-Cigs business by breaking out the storefront window. The individual entered the store and began tossing out several vape packages to another individual who was standing outside of the store. The suspect appeared to be dressed in all dark clothing and a hooded sweatshirt, while wearing Nike shoes.

This week’s Crime stoppers report comes from the files of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives are needing your help solving a theft case, which occurred on November 13, 2023 at Midwest RV on East Harlan Drive in southern Vigo County. The suspect entered the business property and took a 2006 JAYCO Camper. The suspect was seen entering onto the property in an older Dodge pickup truck. Please take a look at the photos.

The suspect truck is white with paint missing on the rear of the vehicle. The truck also has a tool box in the bed.

Casey's Theft
November 08, 2023

This week’s Crime stoppers report comes from the files of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives are needing your help solving a theft case, which occurred on October 29, 2023 at the Casey’s Gas Station located at US 41 and Jessica Drive in southern Vigo County. Three suspects entered the store and took nearly $4,000 worth of cigarettes. One of the suspects was located and arrested shortly after the thefts. Detectives would like the other two individuals identified. Please take a look at the photos.

The suspects were black males with a slime build. One male had all black attire with a shaved head. The other male had a tan stocking hat, camo jacket, and tan pants.

Burglary of Auto Body Repair Shop

This week’s Crime stoppers report comes from the files of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives are needing your help solving a burglary case, which occurred on October 29, 2023 at an auto body repair shop in southern Vigo County. The business owner interrupted the burglary and held the suspect at gun point before the suspect ultimately fled from the building. Please take a look at the photos.

The suspect was wearing camo pants and a zip up hoodie. A motorcycle was later found outside the building that is suspected to have been the vehicle used by the suspect. It was later found out to be stolen from the City of Terre Haute.

Walmart Theft and Fraud

This week’s Crime stoppers report comes from the files of the Vigo County Sheriff’s Office.  Detectives are needing your help solving a FRAUD AND THEFT case, which occurred on September 10, 2023 at Local Walmart stores. Please take a look at the photos and help identify the male and female.

 On September 10, 2023 a male and female individuals entered several local Walmart Stores in the area and began purchasing items with a stolen credit card.  The pair got away with several thousand dollars’ worth of items from the stores.
